When web beats TV
I watched the second ‘7 ages of rock’ show earlier and wasn’t impressed. What I do like is the website (http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/sevenages/) because it has all sorts of little videos on there not featured in the show. I also like the fact that they’re putting better stuff about the featured acts on BBC4.
There’s Roger Waters and David Gilmore with the excellent Wish You Were Here (one of my favourite Pink Floyd tracks). See also: Roxy Music, Ladytron (there’s not enough oboe in rock music). Then they’ve got stuff with members of Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and various other popular musical entertainers.

Wish You Were Here is the number one track to listen to with the lights out
I’ve just got the ‘Pulse’ live album and Wish You Were Here definitely loses its important sense of intimacy in the live recording.
